Invisible pottery designs come to life with a little paint
These hidden designs come to life when painted! The technique is used by potter Hugh Hope, who has been a ceramic artist for 50 years. A design is added to the plain pottery using clear wax. An iron oxide pigment is then applied on top, which resists the wax and clings to the rest of the pottery, leaving the design to stand out.
